The Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) is a self-report questionnaire widely used to assess the severity of anxiety symptoms. Developed by Aaron T. Beck and colleagues, it consists of 21 questions, each describing a common symptom of anxiety. Respondents rate how much they have been bothered by each symptom during the past week on a scale from 0 (not at all) to 3 (severely).
The total score, ranging from 0 to 63, indicates the severity of anxiety: minimal, mild, moderate, or severe. BAI is particularly useful in distinguishing anxiety from depression and in monitoring changes in anxiety levels over time. It helps individuals and clinicians identify and quantify anxiety symptoms, facilitating effective treatment planning and progress tracking.
Please note this questionnaire is for educational use only. Consult a qualified mental health professional if you need support with stress management. Managing stress in healthy ways is vital for well-being.
